Focus Features have revealed the first official look at Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess in "One Day," Lone Scherfig's follow up to her critically acclaimed "An Education."
Based on the book by David Nicholls, the film tells the story of a couple -- Dexter, a spoiled rich TV host and Emma, a politically minded, insecure, working class Yorkshire girl -- who meet on the same day, July 15th, for the twenty years after they share a one-night stand together at university. Rafe Spall ("Hot Fuzz," "Shaun Of The Dead") and Romola Garai ("Atonement," 'Glorious 39") also co-star as the respective partners of Sturgess and Hathaway's characters, with Nicholls adapting for the screen from his own novel. Patricia Clarkson also stars.
There have been a handful of set photos hitting the web (ZOMG Anne Hathaway with short hair!) but this is the first studio approved glance at the film. Scherfig tells USA Today that the "Groundhog Day"-esque film is "like 20 small films put together."
The film which only recently wrapped shooting, will hit theaters next fall.
