Set Photos From Geoffrey Fletcher's 'Violet & Daisy' Starring Saoirse Ronan & Alexis Bledel Unveils Casting Of Danny Trejo

Here's our first look at Saoirse Ronan and Alexis Bledel from 'Precious' scribe Geoffrey Fletcher's currently-in-production teenage assassin flick "Violet & Daisy."

Also featured in the picture is Danny Trejo, in what seemingly serves as the first unveiling of the "Machete" actor as a cast member for this particular pic. James Gandolfini was previously revealed as a cast member for the self-described "Thelma & Louise" meets "Superbad" meets "Pulp Fiction" story of two teenage assassins who discover that their last job is not exactly what they expected.

Ronan and Bledel obviously play the leading duo with their 13 year age difference barely noticable, for the most part, on account of the age-defying Bledel. Shooting is taking place in and around New York with Fletcher, Bonnie Timmermann, John Penotti of Magic Violet/GreeneStreet Films and Steve Kempf producing.

Exclusive: 'Welcome to the Rileys' Soundtrack Features The Kills, Ying Yang Twins & Shiny Toy Guns; Album Arrives Nov 2

The soundtrack to "Welcome to the Rileys," which mostly features a score by Marc Streitenfeld, hits digitally October 26 and physically November 2 via Lakeshore Records.

Directed by Jake Scott (the son of Ridley Scott), the film stars Kristen Stewart, James Gandolfini, Melissa Leo, David Jensen, and centers on a damaged man (Gandolfini) on a business trip to New Orleans who seeks salvation by caring for a wayward young stripper (Stewart). The soundtrack does also feature the Ying Yang Twins' "Jigglin" and "URA Fever" by The Kills, both of which are played in the strip club where Stewart's character works (don't get too excited, while it's Rated R, we're pretty sure you see no K-Stew skin).

Originally scheduled for a November 5 release in theaters, the film was recently bumped up one week to a October 29 date. You can watch the trailer here and you can see the tracklist below.

'Great Hope Springs' Casting Shifts Again As Meryl Streep, James Gandolfini & Philip Seymour Hoffman Now Linked

The gestating drama "Great Hope Springs" has been through a lot of changes since it was first announced earlier this summer. When we first heard of it, Meryl Streep and Jeff Bridges were attached with Philip Seymour Hoffman linked and Jessie Nelson ("I Am Sam") directing. Shortly thereafter, Mike Nichols took over the director's seat with Streep and Bridges considered to be solid and the question mark being Hoffman. But it looks like things have changed again.

Vulture reports that James Gandolfini, after a table read for the film, has taken the role slotted for Bridges as a deal was never closed for the latter actor, with Hoffman now seeming more of a certainty. The film follows a couple (Gandolfini and Streep) who attend an intense counseling session over a weekend in order to decide the fate of their marriage. Hoffman would presumably play the therapist. Word is that both Hoffman and Gandolfini are eager to do the film, and Streep is game as well and is ready for a March shoot if talent and distribution deals can be locked down.

Obviously, anything with such an astounding lineup would garner studio interest and producers Mandate Pictures are already fielding domestic distribution offers from the big boys. We certainly like the talent attached and the material sounds great, here's hoping it moves forward.

Alexis Bledel Joins Saoirse Ronan & James Gandolfini In Teenage Assassin Flick 'Violet And Daisy'

Alexis Bledel is set to join Saoirse Ronan and James Gandolfini in Geoffrey Fletcher's directorial debut, the teenage assassin flick, "Violet and Daisy."

A recent co-star in Robert Redford's upcoming period court-room drama "The Conspirator," the ever-youthful 29 year old essentially replaces Carey Mulligan, who was originally attached to star alongside Ronan but has Nicolas Winding Refn's "Drive" shooting at the same time as well as Sam Mendes' adaptation of Ian McEwan's "On Chesil Beach" which was delayed earlier this summer.

After taking home the Best Adapted Screenplay at last year's Oscars for "Precious," Fletcher will be directing from his own script, originally pegged as a cross between "Thelma And Louise," "Superbad" and "Pulp Fiction." Story centers on a pair of teenage assassins (Ronan, Bledel) who are lured into what is supposed to be just another quick and easy job, only to find complications as the man they're supposed to kill (presumably Gandolfini) is not what they expected. Certainly sounds like a potentially entertaining pic but; how will it fare with similarly themed stories preceding it such as the Hit-Girl heavy "Kick-Ass" and Joe Wright's similary themed Ronan-starrer "Hanna"?

Production begins next week in New York with Fletcher, Bonnie Timmermann, John Penotti of Magic Violet/GreeneStreet Films and Steve Kempf producing.
